what are the odds

This is a pet peeve of mine, I've lived in Canada, a nation with pretty strict gun laws
and the thing I noticed once I crossed the border
was the frequency and deadly nature of criminal acts committed
with the huge number of firearms in the USA
I think that the stricter the laws are about guns
the less carnage there is,
but every once in a while something happens that makes me question this like today in the UK
a nation with very strict laws
any thoughts?
the fact is, gun control wont stop things like this from happening but if you study the issue and recent history you find that once laws are tightened, they happen way less, i don't think handguns or even semi automatic rifles should be banned i don't like the idea of only the police and military having guns I think private citizens should be allowed to won firearms, but BUT i think they should be licensed
and registered as they are in Illinois or Massachusetts .

I would not even ban high capacity magazines. what i would do however is what new zealand does and require a special restricted license for high capacity semi automatics. laws like that have proven to save lives
Its not a hard and fast rule and it is an issue open to debate but generally nations with stricter gun laws have lower violent crime rates than nations that have lax laws, but its an issue that will forever cause dispute
