The Sorry State of Modern Conservatism

No words are necessary...

  1. Well, clinging to guns is a sign of weakness, not of strength. They're terrified of change and new ideas... right-wing conservatives have no new ideas, so a lot of 'em cling to weapons in order to intimidate their "foes". Don't be intimidated.

  2. yeah well look i totally agree with you,but how does that old song go?
you can't talk to a man with a shotgun in his hand..you can't talk to a man when he don't want to understand..my point is how do you establish a dialogue with a bunch of lunatics that consider political dialogue cutting propane lines and shooting out congresspersons windows with a pellet gun?I'll try not to be intimidated but its hard when your running for your life and your backside is full of buckshot..seriously..what is important is that the FBI take every death threat and act of vandalism seriously the idiots on the other side think there minutemen in a revolution , they aren't they are no different than the sort of cross burning ku klux klan or mussolini's brown shirts same tactics, they aren't making a statement for freedom they are stabbing our democracy(something most of them admit they don't believe in)
in the heart.I think if we are going to talk about something it should be to point out how serious acts of violence are they aren't minor things
they aren't part of the acceptable political process and they cant be ignored or tolerated.

  3. There will always be a few nutcases, but for the most part the clinging to weapons is a "puffy-chested" thing.

As for the nutcases- I used to be very iffy on the whole "Homeland Security" deal, but not anymore. Maybe GW was a visionary after all :)

  4. i'm very interested and curious in how november plays out.if there will be any electoral violence and the outcome of the election, whether the democrats suffer loses as the did in 1994 or whether they hold their own
this is a critical election in a way. low voter turn out but it could stop "CHANGE" cold does any one have any thoughts on the upcoming election?
as for homeland security it reminds me of that famous franklin quote about security and liberty, we already have an fbi and a DOJ homeland security always did and always will give me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach

  5. The Dems are going to lose some seats, I predict 4 in the Senate and 16 in the House. Let's be honest about the fact that the GOP's ability to obstruct with 40 Senators suggests that they can't do much more with 45, especially now that the major legislation is finalized. The Dems have already indicated that they will change the rules to put an end to much of the schenanigans. The only thing we do need to be worried about is low turnout on our part. This election hinges not on what the right does but what the left does.

  6. I agree if losses are kept to the level you just mentioned it will be a victory as long as the democrats maintain an absolute majority in both houses we are safe..we will loose seats..that is always he case..but if the base is not active..we WILL LOSE MORE.
