Gallup: Obama, Hillary Are Most Admired
Americans named President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the world's most admired living man and woman in 2013, according to a Gallup poll released on Monday.
Obama topped the annual list for the sixth consecutive year, a typical ranking for a sitting U.S. president, the polling organization said.
Clinton earned the top spot among most admired women for the 12th consecutive year and 18th time overall, more than any other woman in the poll's history.

What would Francis do?
To many in the United States, including conservatives who embrace the Pope as one of their own on social issues, that question is akin to asking what would Jesus do, only with fresher answers.
The pontiff — who today was named Time magazine’s Person of the Year — used his first, personally authored apostolic exhortation last week to provide guidance on what he would do about the growing gap between the rich and the poor. Two days later, President Barack Obama weighed in on the same subject in his third speech about growing income inequality in the U.S.
The Pope was more dramatic, prescriptive, and moral, writes Bloomberg columnist Margaret Carlson. The president had to couch his analysis in self-interest, this being America governed by a Congress unmoved by the poor being blessed and inheriting the earth.

Social Attitude Test

Political Values

Progressivism97.5
Socialism62.5
Tenderness46.875

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible pragmatist with several strong convictions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

Unlike many other political tests found on the Internet which base themselves on untested (and usually ideologically motivated) ideas, this inventory is adapted from Hans Eysenck's own political inventory which was developed after extensive empirical investigations in the 20th Century.take the testTAKE THE TESTTAKE THE TEST

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible pragmatist with many strong convictions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

Martin Bashir has resigned as host of his MSNBC show over comments he made about Sarah Palin.

Bashir made the announcement Wednesday in an email first reported by Mediaite.

He has been under pressure since his Nov. 15 broadcast, when he called the former Alaska governor a "world-class idiot" and suggested she receive the same disgusting treatment given to slaves as described in a slaveholder's diary.

Former senior White House adviser David Plouffe expects up to 8 million Americans will sign up for insurance on Healthcare.gov byMarch 2014 and that President Barack Obama will benefit politically when they do.
"There's a huge interest out there," Plouffe said Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "People want healthcare. They're going to be able to get healthcare."
Although Obama's poll numbers have plunged, particularly after millions of Americans' insurers dropped them from their plans, Plouffe said they will rebound.
